Bristol Palin

Bristol vs. Levi

Levi Johnston and Bristol Palin broke up a few months ago and since then Levi has taken to the talk show rounds bad-mouthing Bristol and her mother, Alaskan Gov. Sara Palin.

The newest drama started with Levi’s appearence on Larry King Live on April 22, 2009. Johnton, along with his drug-dealing mother Sherry and sister Mercede, to discuss the ongoing feud they're having with the former Republican candidate for Vice President and her family.

Levi has said throughout his media tour that he is not allowed to take the couples 4-month-old son out of the Palin home. Both Levi and his mom confirmed to Larry King that they've retained lawyers to help Levi battle for custody of his child, Tripp. Johnston also admitted that he isn't paying Bristol Palin child support, but denies being a deadbeat saying: "I have everything my boy needs back home." Levi Johnston is presently unemployed and searching for a job.

According to a report in the ‘National Enquirer’, Bristol Plain is getting a bit fed up with the act and wants to keep their baby, Tripp, away from him in retaliation.

Bristol Palin, 18, is now taking the feud to the American public. She has been named the Candies Foundation spokeswoman for sexual abstinence. Palin explains, "Regardless of what I did personally, I just think that abstinence is the only way you can effectively, 100% foolproof way you can prevent pregnancy." When asked to explain her own lack of abstinence, she answers, "I'm not quite sure, I just want to go out there and promote abstinence and say, this is the safest choice."

Love Child Born

December 29, 2008 10:22 PM ET

Bristol Palin, teenage daughter of 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin, has given birth to a 7-pound 4-ounce boy on Sunday December 28th 2008 in Palmer, Alaska.

The baby is named Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston.

18-year-old Bristol Palin made international news when it was announced, just days after John McCain’s choice of Sarah Palin as running mate, that she was pregnant and that Levi Johnston was the father. The couple had stated earlier that they plan to marry in 2009.

According to Colleen Jones, the governor's aunt, "The baby is fine and Bristol is doing well. Everyone is excited."

The governor's office said it would not release information because it considers the baby's birth a private, family matter.

Just last week, the mother of Bristol Palin's fiancé, Levi Johnston, was arrested in Alaska on drug charges. The Anchorage Daily News says Sherry Johnston, mother of Levi Johnston, was charged with six felony counts of misconduct involving a controlled substance. According to authorities, she sent text messages to two police informants discussing drug transactions involving OxyContin, a strong prescription painkiller.

Politico reports that Johnston had been released from the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility on a $2,000 bond.

It's the Sex, Not Bristol Palin's Pregnancy, That Upsets Conservatives

She's not in the news much this week, but Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's pregnant 17-year-old daughter Bristol is still the talk of conservative groups, especially family organizations. And while the buzz is still positive over her decision to have the baby and even marry the 18-year-old father, there's no sympathy for their out-of-wedlock sex that landed both of them in the headlines. The subject was addressed today by Family Research Council President Tony Perkins when he was asked during a media roundtable if he would have been so forgiving if one of Sen. Barack Obama's daughters were to get pregnant. "If Barack Obama's daughter or anybody found themselves in the same position and made that same decision we would give that same response," he says. Actually, he was asked about conservative groups "rallying around" Bristol, to which Perkins says, "The rallying around . . . was in that this is a problem that knows no barrier in our society. It happens to the wealthiest and poorest of families. It is a real problem that we have a teenage pregnancy problem in our society. Now, there are two choices you can make when that happens. You can bring that child to term and have a baby, and give it up for adoption or keep it, or you can abort that child. Obviously, being consistent with what we believe is a true pro-life perspective, is give that child birth."

But, he added, "We were not applauding—I don't think anybody was applauding—the fact that their daughter became pregnant out of wedlock. What they were rallying around is the fact that even though she made a poor choice, she made a good choice in giving that child the right to life. Some will say that that was a political decision that her mom obviously forced her into. The daughter was in her fifth month of pregnancy, so this had nothing to do with being vice president."

Then he focused on teen sex and said that churches and parents have to figure out a better way to help kids understand the implications of it. "The pregnancy is not the problem. The problem is the decision to engage in, as young people who are emotionally unprepared and economically unprepared . . . an activity that can produce another life. There are emotional issues that are attached to that type of behavior," says Perkins. "It is a decision that is going to impact the rest of their life."

Bristol's boyfriend says he doesn't want kids!

Palin’s new son-in-law is an 18-year-old who calls himself a “f---kin’ redneck” and says he DOESN’T WANT KIDS. “I like to go camping and hang out with the boys, do some fishing, shoot some s- - - and just f - - -in' chillin' I guess….Ya f - - - with me I'll kick [your] ass.” He also says “I don't want kids."

And there’s good news! After three decades of spewing hate, fear and intolerance, the zealots of the religious right have discovered tolerance this week! The Palins are human, it’s a normal family, God forgives them, blah blah blah.

Levi Johnston on stage at RNC

Levi Johnston, the boyfriend of Republican running mate Sarah Palin's daughter Bristol, joined the family Wednesday in welcoming GOP presidential candidate John McCain to the convention city, St. Paul, Minn. Johnston, 18, and Bristol Palin, 17, are expecting a child, and the Palin family says the couple will wed.

Bristol Palin

Obama Biography

First Lady Michelle Obama

Statement the McCain camp released from Todd and Sarah Palin

"We have been blessed with five wonderful children who we love with all our heart and mean everything to us. Our beautiful daughter Bristol came to us with news that as parents we knew would make her grow up faster than we had ever planned. We're proud of Bristol's decision to have her baby and even prouder to become grandparents. As Bristol faces the responsibilities of adulthood, she knows she has our unconditional love and support."

"Bristol and the young man she will marry are going to realize very quickly the difficulties of raising a child, which is why they will have the love and support of our entire family. We ask the media to respect our daughter and Levi's privacy as has always been the tradition of children of candidates."
